Launched this first run broadcast television production company to create and syndicate content to local network affiliate and independent television stations and station groups in the United States. In our first year of syndication, where the failure rate is over 99%, Distant Roads was cleared in over 60% of the nation including ABC's New York O&O - WABC-TV. Today Distant Roads & another syndicated GPI series - Steel Dreams - mark their 11th and 15th consecutive years respectively in national broadcast syndication. Both series have received 26 episode renewals for the 2015/2016 television season.

In the Fall of 1989 while still in his 20’s Ashley Gracile decided to "retire" from the accounting profession he so loathed and start a television production company. The problem with his plan was that the only thing Ashley knew about television was how to use a remote control and even that was a stretch. But as they say persistence is about being too stupid to know when to quit… so Ashley went ahead and founded Gracile Productions Incorporated (GPI) in September of 1989. Within three weeks of GPI opening it's doors Ashley pitched and sold a TV series on RV travel thereby creating more problems... Ashley knew nothing about RV’s he'd never even been inside of one; he knew even less about broadcast television series production. A TV series on RV's had never been done before. To make matters worse Ashley had virtually no hands-on business experience at all and he wasn't even thirty yet. Somehow 12 weeks later GPI managed to deliver a 13 episode broadcast TV series called RV Vacation Adventures which premiered on January 5,1990 on a network O&O TV station in Toronto… a market whose equivalent DMA in the United States would be around #4. RV Vacation Adventures was a hit and picked up for a second season and the rest as they say is history. The show which would later become Distant Roads has stayed on the air for an astounding 1,300+ consecutive weeks (yes, it was on this week too). The over 610 episodes produced have been watched by over 30 million viewers in 8 languages in 20 countries worldwide. Under Ashley's leadership GPI would go on to create and sell another 7 series and more than 700 episodes of broadcast television programming and in doing so establish 2 television programming genres. Over those 20 or so years GPI also acquired 5 companies, created an in hospital television network, distributed content in 12 languages to over 40 international territories while providing work for almost 3,000 employees and contractors.
